The moderator: Chief Jim Bueermann (ret.) has worked in law enforcement since 1978, retiring after 33 years with the Redlands Police Department, where he served as Chief of Police and Director of Housing, Recreation, and Senior Services. In 2012, he became president of the National Police Foundation (now the National Policing Institute). After retiring in 2018, he began consulting for various organizations and founded the Future Policing Institute in 2019 to promote effective, empathetic, and just policing for the future.
