According to a study by the Council on Criminal Justice, motor vehicle thefts continued to increase through the first half of the year. In fact, there were 33.5% more motor vehicle thefts, on average, than there were in the first half of 2022.
Compared to 2019, it's even worse: Auto theft is up 104% during the same time period.
